Comprehensive Psychiatric Diagnostic Evaluations

Dr. Jackson uses her knowledge of developmental, psychological, medical, cognitive, and social factors to evaluate and establish a psychiatric diagnosis or "working formulation" to aid in understanding area(s) of concern, and to develop comprehensive and effective treatment plans for her child and adolescent patients.

Individualized Psychiatric Treatment

Dr. Jackson tailors each patient's treatment to their specific needs & wishes. Psychotherapy techniques & education/support are incorporated into all follow up appointments. If psychiatric medication is determined to be an important addition to one's treatment plan her strategy is to treat with the lowest effective dose, and to prescribe as few medications as possible. If psychiatric medication is not indicated she offers applicable referrals (i.e., individual and/or family therapy, pediatrics).

Special Areas of Interest and Experience

Dr. Jackson treats the majority of childhood disorders of thinking, feeling, & behavior, and has special interest & experience treating individuals with Autism (all levels of functioning from low to very high). She understands the importance of communication across a team of providers (pediatricians, speech and/or occupational therapists, ABA providers, etc.) when caring for this very endearing patient population.
